School Prayer
I am an author, but I am also and educator, and I would like to take a moment to pray for all of those who serve students, are the parents and family members of the students, and the community as a whole.
Dear Heavenly Father, I lift up to you today all who touch the life of a child as they walk this journey of life. School is a large part of that journey and education is the key to growing and moving forward.
I pray for each students’ hearts and minds to be open to learning as they enter their school. I pray for the many teachers, staff, and administrators who will work tirelessly to create a place of learning and acceptance that their efforts will be blessed and their energies for each new day will be renewed.
I pray for the parents and family members of each student. We are the child’s first line of defense and we need time, energy, and resources to speak into our child’s life. I pray that you will provide our every need, Father. Kids who come hungry, tired, or fearful have the hardest time living up the potential you gave them. It is left at the front door of each school building because their minds are occupied with adult concerns. Please give all of us the means to take care of our children so each child will meet and achieve the potential you instilled in them before they even came into this world.
I pray for the community workers, leaders, protectors, and residents of each student to help create a safe and healthy environment for them to grow and prosper. I pray each person in the community does his or her part to provide a neighborhood where the kids are comfortable to play and be kids. Please bring back childhoods. They aren’t found within the four walls of a classroom or on the playground of a school. They are found within their communities.
Dear Father, thank you for hearing our prayers. I see your hand upon the heads of each student as they walk the halls of their schools, and I pray they feel and answer the love and concern you have for them. I pray they listen to your voice and follow your guidance as they tune out the rest who want to lead them astray.
We can’t do this life without you. Thank you, Father, for going before us and touching the hallways the students will enter and the classrooms they will occupy.
We love you so much.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
